You sound like a outstanding young man! I’m proud of you for stepping up if she is pregnant… it sounds like you will do whatever is best for her and your baby. That’s really honorable.
While having a baby can be tough financially.. I think it’s hardest when it comes to adjusting to the new lifestyle and responsibilities. Prepare for that. It’s easier said then done! Babies take a lot of attention and love. If your parents are willing to help.. let them! Don’t take too much on yourself if you don’t have to. You sound like the kind of guy who will want to step up to be as good a provider and father as you can be at 16… but realize that you can’t fully be an adult yet. I remember being 16 (I’m only 22).. and until you are paying your own rent or mortgage, phone bill, car note, insurance, groceries, clothing, health care, etc… you have to remember that you are not an adult yet and you still have to be working towards becoming that.
If she is not pregnant, be more careful!!! Babies are a lot of hard work. It’s easy to hear that and be like “oh yea, of course they are.. and I can handle that”.. but until you have been a parent and understand all that goes into it… I honestly don’t think most adults are ready for it!
If she’s pregnant make sure to speak with both your families and be very open and honest about it. If you are going to be responsible and bring another life into the world … you owe it to that life to be open about him/her and be responsible about it. Good luck!
